Van Donated to Local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

UTICA, NY – The Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals at the St. Luke’s Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) recently received support from the Midstate Regional Council and Steet-Ponte Toyota to purchase a new van for use by Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

EMS now uses the vehicle to transport supplies and training equipment to several different outreach and training/education programs in Oneida, Herkimer and Madison County. Some of the programs include Project Kids Care, weekly opiate overdose training and education and community outreach.

“The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals have always been important to me and my family, since both my brother and I were born prematurely,” said Carly Steet-Mathias. “But this year, donating to help the EMS van hit even closer to home. Growing up in the automotive industry, I've seen firsthand how important reliable transportation is, especially when it comes to medical services. Additionally, my husband is a former Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and current volunteer fireman for our hometown, so being able to provide our local hospital with a great vehicle that can transport life saving medical equipment for trainings for fire departments and EMS services means the world to all of us.”
